Originally opened in 2014, Capital School Dubai is now owned (as of September 2019) by Alkhabeer Private Equity, a major asset management company in Saudi Arabia. Capital School is the Group’s flag ship school and is subject to major new investment and curriculum planning as it phases its launch to Sixth Form. Capital School sits within a growing educational portfolio across the GCC which by 2025 will number more than 10 schools.
Our rating is Acceptable. The school is now under a new leadership team and management which are working very closely with the KHDA to improve this. However, you will see under our current rating we achieved very good in early years and Good in Maths, English and Science.
All our teachers are native English speakers from the United Kingdom. You will find this is unique price comparable schools in Dubai at this price point.
Capital school is conveniently located near Dubai International Airport only a 20 minute drive from areas like Dubai Silicon Oasis, key residential areas of Sharjah, and Jumeriah 1.
The students in FS1 and FS2 follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. We aim to create a stimulating, exciting and engaging environment that nurtures a love of learning. This is achieved by building on the children’s interest, questions, thoughts and ideas. Our main focus is to develop social skills, literacy, a mathematical understanding and a love of the world around them through topic-based learning.
Our Primary students (Year 1-6) are taught the British National Curriculum. The curriculum provides students with a wide range of subjects, including French. The children benefit from continuous assessment to monitor the student’s progress and attainment. Students are encouraged to problem-solve, learn through investigative tasks and have fun! Emphasis is given to creative thinking and exploring the world in a way which excites and stimulates the children’s curiosity for learning.
The Year 7 and 8 students are taught the Key Stage 3 British National Curriculum. This phase of education provides the students with the preparation they need to undertake formal examinations in the future whether it is the International Baccalaureate, IGCSEs or A levels. Our students are given the opportunity to develop their whole curriculum skills and capabilities in greater depth. Planning for this and assessing the skills takes co-ordination between a range of subjects and teachers. The students benefit from tutorial-style teaching enabling them to grow into confident , kind and knowledgeable individuals.
Our school is open Sunday to Thursday from 7am until 5pm for families to visit and view our large spacious classrooms and meet a member of our academic team. We understand that working families can’t always visit during the week so therefore offer full flexibility for weekend tours. Capital School is a fully inclusive school representing children from all nationalities.
In FS1 and FS2 we aim to keep our class sizes as 20. All FS classes have a Class Teacher and a Teaching Assistant. Class ratio is 1:10
From Year 1 to Year 8 we aim to keep the class sizes to 25 and all classes have a Teaching Assistant. Class Ratio is 1:12.
As well as PE and swimming being an integral part of the curriculum we will ensure that learning how to keep healthy both physically and mentally will be a key part of our curriculum.
We actively promote healthy eating at school as we know that when children eat nutritionally rich food they have more energy and approach their studies with more enthusiasm. We have our own in-house school canteen providing a daily choice of healthy nutritious meals as well as a cafeteria.
We provide a transport option through our premium provider Maverick who have operated in the region for over 10 years and services most areas of Dubai.
Safety of your child is important to us and we assure that all our buses are staffed by bus attendants and all buses do not exceed the maximum number of students. All buses are equipped with cameras.
We start our day from 7.30am in our outdoor activity area where parents have the opportunity to interact with our Teachers’ and Principal.

We understand that having access to high quality care beyond the school day is important to working parents. To support working parents in our school community, Capital School offers extended care for students FS1 to Year 8 from 6.30am to 6.00pm Sunday to Thursday.

We have ensured the Capital School uniform is as simple as possible but smart and functional.
We ensure that families are fully informed of what their child is learning in school and how families can help at home through weekly newsletters and meetings for families. We also have regular family workshops in all areas of the curriculum.
Our teachers will be available at the start and end of each day and to make an appointment if a longer discussion is needed. Formal family conferencing sessions will happen three times a year.
Yes, we are one of the few schools in the UAE where children learn Arabic from FS1.
We are one of the few schools in the UAE to offer French and Arabic from FS1. Children continue with these languages through to the end of their schooling at Capital School.

Yes, we have two prayer rooms.

Capital School believe family is the heart of learning and we wish to create a diverse and happy community of parents and children. We welcome parents to visit the school at any time and encourage families to be involved in everyday learning, activities and events the school.
Parent feedback is an integral part of the success of Capital School. We have a governing board and there are family representatives and students on this board to assist in ensuring the parents are involved in all aspects of the school.
Capital School is an inclusive school and open entry. All children are welcome to apply and every child entering from Year 1 and above completes a small task, but this is not a requirement for enrolment. The task provides important up-to-date information which we can use to meet your child’s individual learning needs.
Music is an integral part of the curriculum at Capital School, and all students have the opportunity to learn an instrument and compose music. They will also enjoy participating in performance groups including choirs and orchestras.
An important part of Capital School happens beyond the classroom, where a student can immerse themselves in a world of creativity and activity. Whether it’s sport, music, debating or gardening, there is an abundance of extra-curricular activities to ignite your child’s passion.
